In cooperation with the Academy of Music and Theatre
In order to foster young singers and to enable them to benefit from additional, hands-on training, the Hamburg State Opera set up the International Opera Studio during the 1994/1995 season. In cooperation with the Hamburg Academy of Music and Theatre, the State Opera provides highly gifted young singers who have completed their college/university studies with the opportunity to continue their training, hands-on, in ongoing repertoire. Through inclusion in productions at the State Opera, members of the Opera Studio are able to gain stage experience. Furthermore, the Opera Studio is very successful at bringing out its own productions. The project is funded by the Körber-Stiftung, the Stiftung zur Förderung der Hamburgischen Staatsoper, EADS Airbus GmbH plus Jochen Kauffmann.
